A Pairing Made For Exceptional Coffee Taste
Nespresso opens up a world where premium coffee expertise meets gastronomy
It’s no surprise that coffee is often paired with a long list of sweet delectables. There is even a science to how caffeine responds to sweetness. To a coffee connoisseur, however, your daily brew can be paired deliciously even with a savory dish.
To bring together this celebration of taste, Nespresso collaborated with chef and restaurateur at Helm, Josh Boutwood, to create two dishes that seamlessly go well with the limited edition Master Origins Aged Sumatra and Papua New Guinea.
ALL IN THE ROAST
Robust and with a wonderful woody aroma, the Master Origins Aged Sumatra has a unique combination of body, depth, and flavor. The internationally-known chef paired it with a slow-cooked tender serving of short rib, cacao, and cauliflower.
“We want it to be a little bit more delicate and bring in some chocolate tones that will linger, and also incorporate an aged process. The dish features aged meat which is going to carry all those flavors along,” says Boutwood.
EARTHY AND GROUNDED
Sweet, fruity, and with a velvety body, the Master Origins Papua New Guinea is made from classic Arabica varieties produced in the mountainous highlands of the region.
“I immediately knew that I needed to pair it with something that was a little bit more earthy, grounded, and almost floral in order for those particular coffee taste profiles to be exemplified slightly.” shared Boutwood.
