Beauty and body standards have evolved over time, and we’ve seen changes in what is considered or defined as beautiful. As the rest of the world becomes more accessible through digital advancements, we too become more open and informed about the vast beauty that surrounds us. This, in turn, opens our eyes to each individual’s unique differences and allows us to accept and celebrate them. In MEGA, we always try to celebrate women. Over the years, we’ve produced countless stories and dedicated features about what makes women great and beautiful—whether it’s their bodies, strength, or beauty. We’ve put the spotlight on different women who come from different backgrounds, age, and even life stages. We are adamant about our message that there is no one size that fits all—and definitely there is no one mold that defines a woman.
Women come in all forms and sizes, and they should be celebrated. This month is our body issue and we found the perfect muse to headline our cover.
Actress and young producer Ria Atayde has always been on our radar, not only because of her talent but also because of the confidence she exudes. Not one to shy away from speaking about her beliefs, she openly celebrates her body and curves. Although she admits that she’s still working on herself, she tells us that it took time for her to balance the idea of self-love and understanding the concept of beauty in her industry.
It is quite refreshing to meet someone confident and fearless in trying out something new and stepping out of her comfort zone, whether via poses or clothes.
Also in this issue, we get to learn more about four women of different silhouettes, shapes, age, views, and thoughts. But they are one in saying that whatever form you’ve molded yourself into, your body is worth loving.
While yes, we are all different and unique in our own ways as women, what probably makes us alike are our stories of faith, successes, and overcoming failures. And those are the standards that deserve to be told and shared in the pages of MEGA.
