It’s kind of hard and a lot of times it can be really frustrating, but when we take a step back and see how the whole world is being affected, we all need to realize that we have to be in this together. I like to start off my day by reading the Bible. A verse of scripture a day can make a big difference if you’re spiritual or religious. When I start overthinking and stressing about everything that’s happening, I pray. I catch my breath and talk to God. I meditate. I also like to help in ways that I can, even if it’s small like sending rice and canned goods to homes that don’t have enough rations to last them. Most importantly, I practice social distancing and staying indoors. As frustrating as it can be sometimes, following the quarantine and staying home is me doing my part to help fight COVID-19.
Quality medical care is so important and everyone deserves it as a basic human right. I’m learning how important it is to stay united as a family unit. Despite there being a pandemic, this has been a great opportunity for me to spend time with my family. In crisis, there’s opportunity. I’ve learned so much about myself given all this free time now to reflect. I’m learning to be still, be grateful and to trust in Him.—TL
