Fashion as a wordless means of communication is cliché, but when it comes to certain women, it becomes so much more. Such is the case with real estate mogul, Vicki Narwani. When MEGA visited Narwani in her home, her personal style was seen and felt clearly. From the interiors of her house—think wooden paneling, high ceilings, hints of gold and silver dècoratifs—to her closet filled with pieces from heritage houses such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Balmain; fresh-offthe-runway pieces and sought-after bags and shoes from the likes of Chanel and Christian Louboutin—it’s clear that her approach to fashion is all about modern sophistication with an appreciation for the classics and topped with a touch of fun and whimsy.

The modelesque Narwani is a fashion daydream come to life. As a business mogul and a mother, her every day is mostly filled with meetings and motherhood. “My work in real estate development and my family keep me busy. I am an active mother who prioritizes my family first,” she explains.

“I see to it that I give my son all the time he needs and ensure that I make time for my husband who is also busy in his own business.” Balancing all of these it not an easy task for anyone, but Narwani is able to keep it all in check seemingly effortless as when she slips into one of her designer outfits.

Her work is a source of pride.“I grew up in a family who always spoke about real estate during dinner time,” she says. “It just became natural.”

“It started by simply buying and selling condominiums. I also took a lot of time renovating them, which got me very engrossed in interior design.”

Her desire to create and make her mark pushed her to pursue it further. “I wanted to eventually put up buildings with my own touch. Thus, it became a fullfledged business.”

Being in the world of real estate development may look glamorous, but it’s a crowded industry where few succeed. Thanks to her clear vision, singular style and work ethic, Narwani was able to carve out her space in the industry. She cites one more thing that sets her apart—her ability to see the beauty in everything—from an antique to an outdated home. “Everyone is different,” she says, “and there is beauty in that.”

STYLE TALKS

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST FASHION MEMORY?

My first fashion memory was at the age of 10 when I tried to match and style my clothes.

WHO WAS YOUR FASHION ROLE MODEL WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP? My fashion role model growing up was Jennifer Lopez and Blake Lively— and they still are!

WHAT IS YOUR FASHION PHILOSOPHY?

Sexy yet classy

WHAT ABOUT FASHION INSPIRES YOU? Fashion speaks about who you are. It shows with your style. We constantly change and evolve with it. It allows us to show who we are without saying anything.

DO YOU ALSO LOVE TO ACCESSORIZE? WHICH DESIGNERS/BRANDS DO YOU GO TO FOR THAT STATEMENT ACCESSORY? Accessories make the outfit but I don’t tend to over do it. I keep it very simple with earrings, rings, a necklace (if needed), a watch, and bangles or a leather bracelet, which I love to get from Hermès or Louis Vuitton.

WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNERS, BOTH LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL? My favorite designer locally would be Francis Libiran who is my lifesaver on many occasions. Honestly, I just love the local designers we have here. They are so talented!

For international designers, I’m a huge fan on Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, and Maticevski.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON TODAY’S FASHION? Ilovethat fashion nowadays is all about personal style, there is no right or wrong.

LIFE

WHAT MAKES YOU SMILE? Being with my family and spending quality time with them. Time is a currency you can’t buy. Treasure it.

WHAT IS FAMILY TO YOU AND WHAT HAS CHANGED SINCE HAVING YOUR SON? Familyis my first priority. After having Arnav (her son) my priorities have changed. I realized that he is my number one and that his happiness is my happiness, I would do anything to make him smile.

WHAT IS THE MOST DEFINING MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE THUS FAR?

The moment I first saw my son, I’ve never been the same from that day onwards.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE SECRET TO A HAPPY LIFE?

It is to accept people for who they are. Everyone is different and there is beauty in that. Once you accept people for who they are you will not be easily disappointed.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR VICKI NARWANI? Wherever life takes me, tomorrow is a beautiful mystery.

“EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT AND THERE IS BEAUTY IN THAT. ONCE YOU ACCEPT PEOPLE FOR WHO THEY ARE YOU WILL NOT BE EASILY DISAPPOINTED.”
