Mother and daughter duo and entrepreneurs Sheila and Milka Romero may seem a little different at first glance, but after speaking to them, you will see how the two are alike: determined in their own ways, creating their own version of what it means to be a girl boss. When asked what a regular day is like for the two, for example, their answers prove that the apple does not fall far from the tree. For Sheila, it starts with reading the bible for a good mindset to start her day, following this with checking up on her kids and bringing her youngest to school. After this, her day is just getting started: “On the way back, I grab coffee and reply to work messages. Various meetings are set throughout the day, whether it be with Air Asia or my restaurants at the Roku Group—Nara Thai, Roku Sushi + Ramen—or with my charity foundation, I Want To Share Foundation,” the beauty shares.

For her equally lovely daughter, Milka, a day starts with her own version of ‘me time.’ “I start my day with a workout. It puts me in a great mood before I get to work,” she starts. “Meetings are then scheduled, whether it be with the Roku Group or new ventures. After working in the office, I drop by my restaurants and my bar, Ms. Gee, making sure operations are doing well. At the same time, I also get to catch up with the friends that I work with.”
