The Night We All Gave Back

ABS-CBN Ball was a night to give honor the network’s 65 years of service—and here’s everything you might have missed from that

special event.

On its second year, the ball is one of the most anticipated fashion events in the country—linking red carpet style and fashion, the same way the Met Gala or the Oscars red carpet are revered. The dress code was modern Filipiniana, giving the evening an elegant mix of celebrity and Filipino pride.

But more than the glitz and glamour, it was of giving back—a celebration of ABS-CBN’s 65 years of service to the Filipino people and a tribute to the late Gina Lopez. Following the opening of the new Bantay Bata 163’s Children’s Village through funds raised from last year, this year’s ball was for the benefit of Bantay Bata 163’s Edukasyon program.

While we worked the night away—we still had a blast welcoming everyone to the gorgeous Metro photo and video booths, courtesy of Gideon Hermosa.

Yet our biggest feat that night was actually our full red carpet coverage, which was also live on Metro Channel, with hosts Metro. Style Editor-at-Large Sarah Meier, Boy Abunda, Bianca Gonzales, along with panelists Metro EIC Geolette Esguerra, Metro Beauty Editor Kate Paras-Santiago, designer JC Buendia, and blogger Leah Puyat.
