Firm eyes more jobs in expansions
BRIGADA, a Mindanao homegrown business and considered among the country’s fastest-growing, expects to generate more jobs in the coming years with expansions in its subsidiaries throughout the country.
Plans have it that the media and food supplement conglomerate will build a multi-million pesos state-ofthe-art manufacturing plant in Mindanao to be able to respond to a growing domestic market and meet the potentials in nearby countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the United States.
Yelcy Yasay-Catulpos, Brigada Group executive vice president, said the company is again into expansion in various subsidiaries and these “will require thousands of new employment and manpower for the company.” Currently, Brigada employs about a thousand regular personnel.
She said the company already finalized negotiations and paper works in sourcing out money from reputable
banking institutions which already committed to help fund and sustain the expansion program.
The expansion centerpiece is the setting up in this city of a “Green Park,” an extensive garden of trees and flowers that will be the location of a modern and spacious environment-friendly edifice to house Brigada’s main headquarters and studios for its television station Brigada News TV and the region’s program trend-setter Brigada News FM.
The five-year initiative begins second quater of this year and will see the setting up of some 500 branches of Brigada Pharmacy nationwide and more than 100 News FM radio stations to augment the current 40 that are now airing in various key areas of the Philippines, she said.
