PBA: Phoenix uses strong 3rd quarter to rally past Ginebra

PHOENIX fought back from 14-points down using a huge second half to complete a 111103 come-from-behind win against Barangay Ginebra in the 2019 PBA Commission­er’s Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Friday.

Matthew Wright exploded for 32 points while Richard Howell added 31 points to go with 21 rebounds in assuring the Fuel Masters’ fourth win in the mid-season conference. The Kings, led by Justin Brownlee, were up 56-44 in the first half. But things went awry for them in the next 2 quarters when the Fuel Masters began asserting their might.

Phoenix took the lead 76-75 following a 4-point surge by Wright and Howell late in the third. Despite coach Louie Alas’ ejection in the quarter, the Fuel Masters went on to win the game.

Brownlee paced the Kings with 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists. The scores: Phoenix 111 - Wright 32, Howell 31, Perkins 18, Chua 12, Jazul 6, Mallari 4, Intal 3, Wilson 3, Kramer 2, Marcelo 0, Napoles 0, Dennison 0.
