Tagaytay, 10 Cavite towns now drug cleared

IMUS CITY, Cavite -Tagaytay City and 10 other Cavite towns are among local government units (LGUs) that have been cleared of illegal drugs since the provincial police office has pursued its campaign against drugs, an official said Thursday.

In a report, Col. William Segun, Cavite Provincial Police Director, said 11 of the 23 Cavite towns and cities made their way to the list.

“We are still in the process and continue to conduct operations against illegal drugs in our province. I have day-to-day monitoring on each police station,” Segun said in an interview.

The 10 towns include Naic, Alfonso, Indang, Amadeo, Bailen, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Ternate and Noveleta.

Cavite City has only 36 out of its 84 barangays, while Rosario has seven out of 20 barangays that are cleared of the illegal drugs.

Segun said other towns are still striving to be drugcleare­d, including Carmona where its eight villages have been 57.14 percent drugfree.

Cities of Bacoor, Cavite, Dasmariñas, General Trias, Imus and Trece Martires; while towns of Rosario, Silang, Tanza, Carmona, Kawit and General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) remain as drug-affected localities.
