Fr. Franco Uras’ Don Bosco Gourmet House in Buda

-

REACHING the cool mountain Bukidnon-Davao (Buda)

Boundary after a smooth drive from Boystown in Maa was filled with expectation and anticipation for the Italian menu lunch prepared for us by

Fr. Franco Uras.

This Don Bosco farm in the hills serves gourmet food with Italian touch, with most of the herbs and vegetables grown by the children of the indigenous families who live in the area.

The Board of Trustees of Boystown decided to drive to the place as Fr. Franco Uras was not able to make it to our scheduled meeting in Maa for health reasons. But it was a blessing for us to make this trip last Saturday, July 06, together with the President of the Board, Salvador “Bading” Angala, Mitos Lorenzo, Rosario ‘Charo’ Moran, Rosel Solis, Leonida Santos, Vikk Valencia-Rustia and Estrellita Lacuesta.

Before our Board Meeting, we enjoyed theTomato soup with cheese, Caesar’s salad, pizza, tomato bread, pasta, roasted Peking duck, and passion fruit juice served in a Mason jar. The sumptuous meal was capped with a jigger of wine and a cup of brewed coffee. That was some lunch we had which we rarely find in the city. We had the opportunity to buy some of the bottled products such as the Vegetarian Pasta Sauce, Duck Liver Patte, Daing in Olive Oil and more products found in the shelves of the restaurant.

The trip to Buda was worth it, traffic and all because of the Davao-Bukidnon highway expansion project which is still underway.

And it is always a bargain to buy the fresh vegetables from Marilog on our way down to the city, we could not resist carrying bags full of the fresh harvest before they are brought down to the market.

We are all looking forward to having lunch or dinner at Fr. Franco Uras’ Gourmet Resto for another opportunity to taste his Italian menu which he serves to customers who frequent his place up in the BukidnonDavao Boundary.
