Another radio man slain

-

IN A STATEMENT, the Brigada Group condemns in strongest terms the killing of Eduardo “Kabrigada Ed” Dizon, anchorman of 97.5 Brigada News FM Kidapawan in the wake of his relentless expose against unscrupulous individuals and organizations involved in illegal undertakings.

Kabrigada Ed, husband of BNFM Kidapawan station manager Madonna Dizon, was shot several times by gunmen riding in tandem while driving a car after he left the vicinity of BNFM Kidapawan at past 10pm on Wednesday, July 10. He sustained five gunshot wounds.

Brigada Group sees the attack on Mr. Dizon, a veteran and seasoned broadcast journalist who was an organic employee of Brigada, as an attempt to silence Brigada media and its news personalities from their expose and position on prevailing issues.

News anchors of Brigada News FM has since taken a moral stance against groups and individuals who are exploiting the public for their own personal gains, in keeping with Brigada’s basic mission to be always on the side and best interest of the public. By doing this, it may have stepped on the toes of some groups and individuals.

This brazen move by those who perpetrated the crime will not deter Brigada from pursuing its sacred mission but will instead provide the strength and determination to serve for the best interest of the public.

Brigada condoles in deep sympathy with the family and loved ones of Kabrigada Ed, who will be in the best care and attention of Brigada.

We call on the authorities to go deep into this in their investigation, prosecution and eventual punishment of those who are behind the gruesome murder of one of our esteemed news anchor personalities.

The death of Kabrigada Ed will not be in vain.
