DCWD schedules 2 sets of water interruptions on 9-10

-

DAVAO City Water District advised the public of two separate sets of water service interruptions.

First set is on Aug. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in some areas served by Lubogan Water Supply System (WSS) specifically Kadayawan Homes Phase I-B, Batulosa Village,

Green Praire Subd., Kristina Homes I, Purok 1, Purok 3 Upper Lubogan, Purok 5 and 10, Rosalina Village III Phase 2, Lubogan Cemetery to Iwha Road, Iwha Village, Pepsi Cola Village, Summerland, Vergul Village, Greenland Subd., Villa Josefina Village, D’Garden, Bavnai Village, Purok 13 Seaside, Saavedra Neighborhood Assn. Inc., Ideal Village, Bliss Compound, Villa Mercedita, Ocean Cove I, Mergrande Ocean Resort, Balai Village, Paderog Compound, Bartolini Compound, Torrejos Compound, Dusnai Village, Unggay Compound, Albeza Compound, Divino Compound, Sto. Rosario Village, Tayo Compound, Sison Subd., Dacoville Subd., Farland Subd., Mindawide Relocation, Diho VI, Don Lorenzo Subd., Toril Country Homes, DLF Village, New Creation Subd., and portion of Davao-Cotabato Road (from corner Villa Josefina Resort Village to corner Ideal Village).

The DCWD’s Lubogan production wells No. 1 and 2 under Lubogan WSS will be affected by Davao Light and Power Company’s power interruption on said date needed to facilitate line hazard correction and reconstruction of their 69kV line.

With the power interruption, the affected facilities will not be able to operate and produce water, and in turn, will not be able to supply water to the affected areas.

Although the power cut is shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on of the affected facilities, pressure build-up, and line delivery, thus the longer duration of water service interruption.

The second set is on Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in some downtown areas specifically Narra St., portion of Leon Ma. Guerrero St. (from Sta. Ana Avenue to R. Magsaysay Avenue), portion of Monteverde St. (from Leon Ma. Guerrero St. to Narra St.), and immediate environs.

Water supply has to be temporarily shut off in the affected areas to give way to the tapping and installation of a gate valve to the existing DCWD pipeline for the water connection of RAL building along Narra St., R. Magsaysay Avenue, Brgy. 30-C, Poblacion, Davao City.

On behalf of the DCWD management, general manager Engr. Edwin V. Regalado asks for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers and advises them to store enough water prior to the schedule. Water supply may be restored earlier if works go smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.

DCWD conducts line flushing after tapping works are completed. However, once water is restored, customers are advised to open all faucets and allow water to run for at least two minutes. Do not drink tap water immediately but if needed, boil water beforehand as safety precaution.

The general public may visit DCWD website (www.davao-water.gov.ph) and official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/davaowater) or call the Central Information Unit / Call Center through the 24-hour hotline 235-DCWD (3293) and press “1” on their phone dial for the latest daily water updates.
