-

MANILA -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and the Ayala Foundation feted two police officers on Tuesday for their exemplary deeds of heroism.

Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, said Patrolman Jonathan Stanley Berdon Dionisio of the Manila Police District (MPD) and Cpl. Jeffrey Maneclang Javier of the Southern Police District (SPD) were the latest recipients of the Pulis Magiting award.

Dionisio chased a snatcher and helped a distressed citizen in Lagusnilad, Manila while Javier helped rescue a man who tried to take his life at the rooftop of a building in Parañaque.

Eleazar commended the goodness of police personnel, not only as professional servants but more importantly as human beings.

“While we are swift in punishing the bad elements in our ranks, we are equally swift in commending and giving awards to our deserving policemen. Both

cops went the extra mile in carrying out their duties as policemen. As the regional director of NCRPO, it makes me proud seeing them being recognized by the public we ought to serve and protect,” he said.

The award aims to recognize and provide modest rewards to policemen performing good deeds, not only as public servants but more importantly as compassionate and gallant persons. PNA
