Alden Richards on Kadayawan Festival
KAPUSO Prime Actor Alden Richards makes a special trip to Davao this weekend to join the celebration of Kadayawan Festival courtesy of GMA Network’s regional arm GMA Regional TV.
Together with Alden are his co-stars in his upcoming primetime series The Gift—Mikee Quintos, Thia Thomalla, Ysabel Ortega, and Martin del Rosario. The cast will be at The Atrium, Gaisano Grand Citygate in Buhangin, Davao City today for a Kapuso Mall Show at 4 p.m.

Saturday, Alden and his co-stars will board the Kapuso Float for the Pamulak sa Kadayawan Float Parade. GMA Regional TV makes this year’s Kapuso Float Parade Participation extra special as GMA TV 5 Davao airs “Pamulak sa Kadayawan: A GMA Regional TV One Mindanao Special Live Coverage” beginning 8 a.m. The TV coverage will be hosted by One Mindanao anchors Tek Ocampo, Sarah Hilomen-Velasco, and Real Sorroche. Live updates along the parade route will be reported by correspondents Sheillah Vergara-Rubio, Rgil Relator, and Jandi Esteban. The rest of the Philippines and Kapuso abroad can watch the parade as well via live streaming on GMA RTV’s official website, http://www. gmaregionaltv.com. Other highlights of this year’s Kadayawan Festival will also be featured there. In The Gift, Alden takes on the role of Joseph—a man who grows up in Divisoria and becomes one of its hard-working vendors. And while life gives Joseph trials upon losing his eyesight, he continues to be a good person and becomes an inspiration to the people around him. He also discovers his ability to have visions even when he cannot see anything. To prepare for his character, Alden underwent an immersion with Resources for the Blind Inc., a nongovernment office that helps visuallyimpaired people. The Gift centers on hope, transformation, and inspiration. Also starring in this series are Elizabeth Oropesa, Jo Berry, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Jean Garcia. Last week, the lead actors Bihag, Love You Two, The Better Woman and One of the Baes flew to Davao to celebrate with the Kapusong Dabawenyos. Fresh from the successful run of their Afternoon Prime series Bihag, Jason Abalos and Mark Herras treated their fans to a Kapuso Mall Show in Gaisano Mall Toril last August 18. Meanwhile in SM City Davao, Love You Two lead actor Gabby Concepcion brought kilig to Dabawenyos. Joining him were the lead stars of the primetime series The Better Woman—Derek Ramsay and Andrea Torres, and the uber cute team-up of RitKen—Rita Daniela and Ken Chan of the upcoming primetime series One of the Baes.
