Ben&Ben brings Limasawa Street Tour to Davao

AYALA Malls Abreeza was packed to the rafters as it played host to the Davao leg of Ben&Ben’s Limasawa Street album tour. The debut album of the hugely popular Filipino folkpop band, Limasawa Street was released on May 10 and made available for purchase in select Ayala Malls. Coinciding with the album release was a nationwide tour taking place in 12 Ayala Malls across the country from May 17 to August 17. The Limasawa Street Tour ended on a high note with its final leg happening in Davao’s Abreeza on August 17—right at the height of the city’s most important celebration, the Kadayawan Festival. Ben&Ben’s Abreeza visit began with a meet & greet session where about a hundred fans who bought copies of Limasawa Street got to get up close with the band. Following a mesmerizing opening set by up- and-coming R&B-soul singer-songwriter Bea Lorenzo, the members of Ben&Ben took the stage: twin brothers Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin Guico on acoustic guitars and vocals, Agnes Reoma on bass, Poch Barretto on electric guitar, Keifer Cabugao on violin, Pat Lasaten on keyboard, Toni Muñoz and Andrew de Pano on percussion, and Jam Villanueva on drums. The nine-piece band swept the crowd into a frenzy as they launched into the beloved hits that have made them a mainstay on the charts, such as “Kathang Isip,” “Maybe the Night,” and “Ride Home.” They also gave fans a taste of their musical evolution by going into the tracks off Limasawa Street, such as the recent chartbuster “Pagtingin.” The finale performance at Abreeza caps off a tour that had previously electrified audiences in 11 other Ayala Malls nationwide; namely, Marquee Mall in Pampanga, Harbor Point in Subic, Centrio in Cagayan de Oro City, Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City, Ayala Malls Legazpi, The District Imus in Cavite, Ayala Center Cebu, Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City, Ayala Malls Circuit in Makati City, Solenad in Laguna, and TriNoma in Quezon City. The Davao leg of the Limasawa Street Tour marks Ben&Ben’s second outing at Abreeza. Their first visit to Abreeza—also their first-ever Davao show—took place in August 2018, also as part of Abreeza’s Kadayawan event lineup.
