THE DAVAO Police Regional office urged the public to provide information on the 1,421 PNP officers who are applying for promotion as evaluations are currently ongoing.

Brig. Gen. Marcelo Morales, the director of PRO XI, said this is to make sure that all applicants are “upright citizens in character, gentle in manners, and are still equipped to serve the public.”

Furthermore, the public can share their knowledge or complaints on the involvement in any illegal activities, particularly illegal drugs of any of the promotables whose names are posted on the social media sites , they may call or text directly to the regional director’s hotline numbers 0998-967-4145, 0933-823-2535, tel no. (082) 232-8064 and on these social media accounts ( RPPSS Rehiyon Onse and Orphrdd Proeleven Facebook Page).

“All information will be treated with confidentiality,” Morales said.

“This is also part of our monitoring in the implementation of the PNP internal cleansing program. We are now social media active. Your participation on this campaign will help a lot in

transforming our organization in to a professional force with integrity and with passion for true public service,” he added.

The information will be vetted and once they prove any wrongdoing or abuse, the officers will be dropped from the promotions list. They will also be subjected to administrative sanction, depending on the gravity of the cases or complaints.

An oversight committee was created to conduct a background check on all applicants to ensure that they deserve the promotion.

“All of them have to undergo immutable process of evaluation to meet the qualification standards such as education, experience, training and eligibility before they are promoted to the next higher rank. Aside from the impressive credentials, he must have a good character,” Morales said.

He added that he is imposing transparency and integrity in the administrative processes to eliminate possible opportunities for unwanted and irregular practices like undue influence, favoritism, fraud and corruption.

The list of candidates will be posted on Pulis Rehiyon Onse II Facebook page, Police Regional Office 11 FB Page, RPPSS Rehiyon Onse and Orphrdd Proeleven Facebook pages, and the Police Regional Office XI website.
