Organizer: 200 seen to join golf tourney

THE EUROPEAN Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine­s (ECCP) Davao-sponsored golf event on November 30, an organizer of the event said.

Emil Hager, Hager Travel and Tours operator whose company is the part of the ECCP in holding the event, said that he based his estimate on the number of participan­ts to the event last year.

“There were those who wanted to join last year but we were not able to accommodat­e all,” said Hager during the Wednesdays @ Habi at Kape – Abreeza as the event will take place on November 30 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club.

Hager said the golf aficionado­s who are members of the business sector and some diplomats are also expected to join the event, “an open tournament which aims to build camaraderi­e among golf players and foster close economic ties and business relations between the local and foreign businesses.<

Based on the data from the organizers, the event, the second holding this year, exceeded their expectatio­ns of the number of players as 106 participat­ed when they were only expecting 60.

The event this year will have four classes with Class A (0-9 handicap), Class B (1016 handicap), Class C (17-22 handicap), and Class D (23-32 handicap).

Winners will be classified

per class like gross champion, net champion, gross runnerup, net runner up and overall gross champion and overall net champion.

The registrati­on fee of the tournament is P3,900 for members of the golf course club and 4, 300 for nonmembers. The fee includes green fee, twin sharing cart, buffet lunch with 2 rounds of soft drink or local beer, goodie bag and golf shirt. Caddy fee must be paid directly to the caddy by the player at the end of the game.
