DYBL tips off Sept. 14

DAVAO CITY – The Davao Youth Basketball League (DYBL) tips off its 2019 season set this September 14 at the Margarita Village covered court in Bajada.

Tournament commissioner Rael Diaz on Thursday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum said the league gives an opportunity to young basketball players to showcase their skills.

“It will be for public and private high school teams based here in Davao having three divisions – mini (12 years-old and under), cadet (14 years-old and under) and juniors (16 years-old and under). It will be an opportunity for these teams which cannot join the other city-based tournaments,” Diaz said.

Trophies and medals will be given to the winners of the tournament which will follow the single round bracket format competition in which the top two teams in each bracket heading on to the semifinal round.

The Davao Youth Basketball League is part of the Davao Youth Games which opened last August 24 at the Ateneo de Davao Jacinto campus.
