2019 Sta. Cruz Trail Ultra Marathon on Sept. 28
DAVAO CITY – As part of the annual Araw ng Sta. Cruz celebration, the Digos, Davao del Sur Tourism Office will stage the 2019 Trail Ultra Marathon set this September 28 on an out and back course to be held in Sta. Cruz.
“We are inviting people to join our event since it will one of the highlights of our weeklong celebration starting on September 28 to October 5,” said Sta. Cruz Tourism officer Julius Paner on Thursday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the SM City Davao Annex.
Paner also added that the Trail Ultra Marathon now on its ninth year, will have two categories, the 25 kilometer and the 50 kilometer courses.
Cash prizes for the 25K category is as follows: P7, 000 for the champion, P5,000 for the 1st runner-up, P3,000 for 2nd runner-up, P2,000 for the 3rd runner-up and P1,000 for the 4th runner-up.
For 50K category, the champion will receive P10,000, the 1st runnerup will receive P7,000; 2nd runner-up P5,000; 3rd runnerup P3,000 and 4th runner-up P2,000.
The Trail Ultra Marathon will kick-off at 4 a.m. on race day.
Registration is still open pegged at P1,300 for the 25K and P2,000 for the 50K.
