DAVAO CITY – Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club will be one of the hosts in this year’s edition of the Eaglemasters Golf tournament which is set to tee-off this September 19 to 22.

The par 72 all-weather course located in nearby Indangan, Mandug is set to host the 600 expected participants who will be in town for the annual and fast growing tournament now on its 11th year.

“The course is ready for this year’s Eaglemasters Golf tournament. We already hosted last year’s edition and we were happy with the turnout seeing local and foreign players enjoying the course,” said Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club general manager Tommy Inigo in yesterday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the SM City Davao Annex.

Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club also purchased more golf carts in order to be used in this year’s competition after seeing it as a need as more participants are seen to join than its previous editions.

Aside from Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club, other hosts for the 11th Eaglemasters Golf tournament are the Apo Golf and Country Club and the South Pacific Golf and Country Club.

“This will be a tourism sports spectacle as golfers from all over the world would come to play golf and experience what Davao City has to offer ranging from food, hotels and beach resorts,” Inigo added.

The 11th Eaglemasters Golf tournament will still be applying the team and individual play system having the Championship Flight (4.0 and below hdcp), Flight A (4.1 to 8.0 hdcp), Flight B (8.1-14.0 hdcp), Flight C (14.1 and up hdcp) and the Seniors Class (for players 55 years-old and up).

Participants will play at the three hosts – Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club, Apo Golf and Country Club and South Pacific Golf and Country Club with the Stableford scoring format to be used in the Championship Flight to the Flight C divisions while the Molave point system will be applied in the Seniors Class.
