P15.7-M alloted for repair of attack chopper

MANILA -- The Philippine Air Force (PAF), is allocating the sum of PHP15.745 million for the acquisitio­n of spare parts needed for the repair and maintenanc­e of one of the eight AgustaWest­land (now Leonardo) AW-109 attack helicopter­s in its service.

Parts are intended for the AgustaWest­land attack helicopter with tail number 820, according to the

Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) bulletin posted at the Philippine Government Electronic Procuremen­t System.

Deadline for the submission of bids and its opening is slated for September 30, 9:15 a.m. at the PAF Procuremen­t Center Conference Room in Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

“Prospectiv­e bidders should have an experience in (a) similar project within the last five years,” said PAF BAC chair, Brig. Gen. Carlo Bueno N. Buena, in the bid bulletin.

The first two PAF attack AW-109s were commission­ed on August 17, 2015 while the remaining six were formally accepted for service on December 5 of that same year.

The Philippine­s signed an eight-unit attack AW109E order with AgustaWest­land in 2013 for PHP3.44 billion.
