PH not haven for foreign fugitives: PACC

-

MANILA -- The Presidential AntiCorruption Commission (PACC) on Monday attributed the arrest of three Chinese nationals wanted for fraud in their country to the “mutual commitment” of both the Philippines and China to fight corruption.

PACC chairman Dante Jimenez made this comment as three Chinese fugitives were presented to the media at the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

“We need to continue to send the message that the Philippines is not a haven for foreign fugitives,” Jimenez told the media.

Jimenez said he expects more illegal aliens and fugitives being arrested under the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the PACC and China’s highest anti-corruption agency, the National Supervision Commission (NSC).

“I will assure you both countries, we will never

tolerate illegal aliens what more fugitives. This is a continuing manifestation of the mutual commitment against corruption by both countries,” Jimenez said. The PACC chief lauded the operatives of the Fugitive Search Unit of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), in coordination with the PACC, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group and NCRPO for the arrest of Chen Xianfeng, 42; Wang Changsen, 27; and Qin Shuxin 24.
