Cops nab four in drug buy-bust ops

COTABATO CITY -Police authorities here arrested four persons in separate law enforcement operations against illegal drugs on Friday.

Arrested during the 4 p.m. drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Bagua Mother, Cotabato City were Jhonny Kasim, 41, and Musaman Ismael, 22, both of the same village.

Capt. Joel Albao, police station 1 deputy chief, led the operation, backed by personnel of the Army’s Special Forces Battalion.

Seized from them were 12 sachets of suspected shabu valued at some PHP10,000; drug paraphernalia; and the PHP500 marked money.

Albao said the two were arrested after they handed over the prohibited stuff to a poseur buyer.

Two hours earlier, village watchmen also nabbed two men caught in the act of sniffing suspected shabu in Purok Rajamuda, Barangay

Poblacion 7, Cotabato City.

Nabbed were Hamsa Pakan Quituar, 27, and Saddam Kusa Esmael, 26, both of Purok Bulibod, Barangay Poblacion 7 here.

Albao said village watchmen found the two sniffing shabu along the village pathway.

“The watchmen alerted the police of their discovery,” he said.

Police also seized from the suspects five sachets of shabu valued at some PHP5,000.

The police was preparing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against the four who were detained at the city police station 1 lockup. (PNA)
