PAL warns public vs. bogus ads
MANILA -- Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has warned the public against fake advertisements recently circulating online.
At least two ads, with dates indicated as October 20 and October 23, claimed that netizens could win tickets from PAL as part of its anniversary.
“Once the perpetrators are identified, legal action will be taken against them. We do not tolerate acts of misrepresentation, which aim to sow confusion, to the detriment of the brand,” PAL spokesperson Cielo
Villaluna told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Friday.
The first ad requires users to answer some questions by clicking the options provided. The other one tells netizens they must click the “share” button and write “Thank you!” in the comments section.
The carrier has advised the public that such ads may compromise their data. Official announcements could
only be found on PAL’s official website www.philippineairlines.com and official social media accounts’handle, @flypal, the carrier added.
Earlier in February, PAL also faced a scam, wherein ads circulating online were claiming the airline would give business class tickets to 800 people.
Those fake ads claimed that the 800 tickets would be given “to celebrate 15 years” of PAL. (PNA)
