DAVAO CITY - Having that healthy body and mind is what we all want to have and how great would it be to see our future healthy too especially for the young and upcoming generations.

Due to a public clamor, the Davao leg of the National Milo Marathon (NMR), reached more than 10,000 runners for its 2019 edition slated on an out-and-back course starting at the SM Lanang Premier car park in Davao City.

One of which is John Lawrence Estopil, 13 year old, Grade-8 student of Daniel R.Aguinaldo High School.

“I have joined marathons twice but it is my first time to join the Milo Marathon. I enjoy events like this, it is fun and tiring at the same time but with I have friends with me so I really enjoyed it,” Estopil said.

Although it is not his first time joining marathons, he added that events like this makes him think about being healthy and fit.

“Aside from the fact that our body benefits from it, running also enhances communication with other people who are joining the event,” he said.

Estopil also highlighted that the young generation should take good care of their body and remember not to take advantage of it.

“We can’t predict what would really happen in the future, so it is really important to learn and start taking good care of our bodies,” he added.

“A fit and healthy body is the best fashion statement,” according to author/artist Jess C. Scott which best describes Estopil’s attitude to the sport of running.
