ZAMBOANGA CITY The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), backed by soldiers and po

licemen, have arrested two high-value target drug personalities in a buy-bust operation in this city, a PDEA official announced Monday. Lawyer Jacqueline de Guzman, PDEA acting regional director, identified the arrested suspects as Aljimar Jimla and Alner Andao, both canning factory workers. She said the two were arrested in buy-bust operation around 1:20 p.m. Sunday in front of a food chain outlet in Barangay Divisoria, east of this city. De Guzman said the two suspects were collared after selling illegal drugs to an undercover PDEA agent. She said seized from the suspects were some 500 grams of suspected shabu packed in 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets estimated worth PHP3.4 million, seven bundles of boodle money topped with one genuine PHP1,000 bill, a four-wheel vehicle, three cellular phones, two plastic bags, a handbag, and one eco bag. She said the suspects will be charged for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Meanwhile, the suspects have denied any knowledge on the illegal drug transaction. The two claimed they were just asked by someone to bring a bag, which turned out to be containing shabu, to the vicinity of a food chain outlet in Barangay Divisoria. Jury Rocamora, PDEA Agent III, said they are conducting investigation to determine as to what group they belong.
