40,000 security personnel for Pasko Fiesta

AROUND 40,000 security operatives will be deployed during the 42-day City’s Pasko Fiesta, which will open this Friday.

Angel Sumagaysay, the chief of Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC), yesterday said 39,409 security officers will provide security, particular­ly in the areas where major activities will be conducted.

“We will start on Nov. 22 up to Jan. 2, 2020,” Sumagaysay said.

He said the security operatives will be composed of personnel from

the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), Task Force Davao (TFD), PSSCC, Civil Security Unit (CSU), Volunteer Police Auxiliary (VPAs), Philippine Coast Guard (PGC), City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) and other force multiplier­s.

Maj. Jason Baria, the spokespers­on of the Police Regional Office XI, said they will also deploy 100 personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), as requested by the DCPO.

Pasko Fiesta will open this Monday afternoon at the City Hall grounds.
