DCWD advisory

-

THE DAVAO City Water District advises the public of two schedules of low water pressure to no water on Nov. 24, 2019 from 12:01 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. and from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in all areas served by Calinan Water Supply System (WSS).

Affected areas are Davao-Bukidnon Road (from corner Sampaguita Street to Kabisig Village)

including San Roque Village, Robillo Compound, Francisco Subd., Lanzona Village, Bagobo Village, Mandagit Village, Teachers Village, and Fortune Village; De Lara Street including Durian Village, Estrella Village, Megaville Subd., Pioneer Subd., HILSHA I, and Annies Home and Country Village; Datu Abing Street, Anthurium Street including Sitio Balite, Peñano Street, Feria Street including Buhawi Village; R. Magsaysay Street (from corner Datu Abing Street to corner Malagos-Baguio Road); portion of MalagosBaguio Road (from corner R. Magsaysay Street to corner of road going to 73rd Infantry Battalion Camp); Rubber Village, Lagazo Village, Park Avenue, Abayon Subd., Naraval Road, Sitio Bagsak, Villafuerte Street including Palarca Compound and Domingga Village, Dacudao Calinan, and Upper Dacudao Calinan.

The DCWD’s Calinan Production Well No. 2 will be affected by the Davao Light and Power Company’s (DLPC) power interruption on the said dates needed to facilitate the upgrading of DLPC’s Calinan substation. With the power interruptions, the production well will not be able to operate and produce water, and in turn, will not be able to supply water to the affected areas.

Although the power cuts are shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on of the affected facility, pressure build up, and line delivery, thus the longer duration of water service interruptions.

On behalf of the DCWD management, General Manager Edwin V. Regalado asks for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers and advises them to store enough water prior to the schedules. Water supply may be restored earlier if DLPC’s work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.

The DCWD conducts flushing after service works are completed. However, once water is restored, customers are advised to open all faucets and allow water to run for at least two minutes. Do not drink tap water immediately but if needed, boil water beforehand as safety precaution.

The general public may visit DCWD website (www. davao-water.gov.ph) and official Facebook page (www. facebook.com/davaowater) for the latest water service updates. They may also call the Central Information Unit / Call Center through the 24-hour hotline 235-DCWD (3293) and press “4” on their phone dial for the latest daily water updates or contact 09277988966, 0925-5113293, and 0908-4410653 for any matters pertaining to DCWD services.
