UMians dominate LET 2019 exam
THE UNIVERSITY of Mindanao (UM) graduates dominate the September 2019 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) with a commendable 23 top-10 placers.
The school has produced 17 topnotchers in the secondary level and six top placers in the elementary level.
Scoring in the Secondary Level are Jasmin Cabatingan and Gene Satinitigan (both second placers with a score of 92.60%); Queenie Damalerio and El Philip Fred
Magbanua (at the fourth spot with 91.80%); Jemimah Mae Tabay, Richejoy Combinido, Ronnel Galvano, Aljie Marie Canoy (UM Tagum), and Chris Llido (UM Digos) (all at the sixth spot with 91.40%); Cherry Ann Gordon (UM Tagum) (seventh spot with 91.20%); Glenn Alumbro, Anne Marie Salapayne, and Dejie Mae Saumat (eighth spot with 91%); Princess Grace Calvo (UM Digos) (ninth spot with 90.80%); and Bryan Añober, Gracelle Bullanday, and Alberto Sarte Jr. (UM Digos) (tenth spot with a score 90.60%).
In the Elementary Level, the six topnotchers are Rona Dawn Rafols (UM Tagum) (3rd spot with 91.40%), Shiera Maravilla (UM Digos) (5th spot with 90.80%), Jay-Ar Lagahit (UM Peñaplata) and Maureen Roslinda (UM Digos) (both at the 8th spot with 90.20%), and Eljun Curan and Irish Lim (10th spot with with 89.90%).
Based on the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Sunday night, the performance of UM products enabled the university to garner a 90.41% passing rate (higher than the 52.81% national passing rate) for first-time takers in the Elementary Level and an 82.80% passing rate (higher than the 58.25 national passing rate) for first-time takers in the Secondary Level.
The PRC reported that only 28,973 out of 92,440 examinees in the elementary level passed the exam while only 54,179 out of 136,523 examinees passed the secondary level.
Exams were administered last Sept. 29 in 29 testing centers across the Philippines.
