UMians dom­i­nate LET 2019 exam

THE UNIVER­SITY of Min­danao (UM) grad­u­ates dom­i­nate the Septem­ber 2019 Li­cen­sure Ex­am­i­na­tion for Teach­ers (LET) with a com­mend­able 23 top-10 plac­ers.

The school has pro­duced 17 top­notch­ers in the se­condary level and six top plac­ers in the el­e­men­tary level.

Scor­ing in the Se­condary Level are Jas­min Ca­batin­gan and Gene Sa­tinit­i­gan (both sec­ond plac­ers with a score of 92.60%); Quee­nie Da­ma­le­rio and El Philip Fred

Magbanua (at the fourth spot with 91.80%); Jemimah Mae Tabay, Richejoy Com­binido, Ron­nel Gal­vano, Aljie Marie Canoy (UM Tagum), and Chris Llido (UM Di­gos) (all at the sixth spot with 91.40%); Cherry Ann Gor­don (UM Tagum) (sev­enth spot with 91.20%); Glenn Alum­bro, Anne Marie Sala­payne, and De­jie Mae Sau­mat (eighth spot with 91%); Princess Grace Calvo (UM Di­gos) (ninth spot with 90.80%); and Bryan Añober, Gra­celle Bul­lan­day, and Al­berto Sarte Jr. (UM Di­gos) (tenth spot with a score 90.60%).

In the El­e­men­tary Level, the six top­notch­ers are Rona Dawn Rafols (UM Tagum) (3rd spot with 91.40%), Shiera Mar­avilla (UM Di­gos) (5th spot with 90.80%), Jay-Ar La­gahit (UM Peñaplata) and Mau­reen Roslinda (UM Di­gos) (both at the 8th spot with 90.20%), and Eljun Cu­ran and Irish Lim (10th spot with with 89.90%).

Based on the re­sults re­leased by the Pro­fes­sional Reg­u­la­tion Com­mis­sion (PRC) on Sun­day night, the per­for­mance of UM prod­ucts en­abled the univer­sity to garner a 90.41% pass­ing rate (higher than the 52.81% na­tional pass­ing rate) for first-time tak­ers in the El­e­men­tary Level and an 82.80% pass­ing rate (higher than the 58.25 na­tional pass­ing rate) for first-time tak­ers in the Se­condary Level.

The PRC re­ported that only 28,973 out of 92,440 ex­am­i­nees in the el­e­men­tary level passed the exam while only 54,179 out of 136,523 ex­am­i­nees passed the se­condary level.

Ex­ams were ad­min­is­tered last Sept. 29 in 29 test­ing cen­ters across the Philip­pines.
