Chamber prexy wants to tell Davao biz story

-

NEWLY elected Davao City of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) president John Carlo B. Tria wants to put the spotlight on the Davao business story.

“It’s time to really expose the Davao business community to a much wider world of opportunities and I think that is what I bring, a capacity and capability the Davao business story, which I think is unique in the Philippines,” Tria said during his guesting at Wednesdays @ Habi at Kape Media Forum at Ayala Abreeza Mall.

He said the Davao business story is peculiar from other business stories in the country.

“Like in agri-business it is about 30% of our economy that’s different compared to Manila and

Cebu and I think that makes a compelling reason to look at Davao as an investment destination,” Tria said.

Tria who is columnist in Davao City newspapers and online news pages is the first DCCCII president with experience in the media profession.

He said Davao business community must have a wider exposure to the

market. “A lot of the interest should translate a strong business activity,” Tria said. The newly elected DCCCII prexy cited the durian industry’s efforts to look for more markets. “It has only been in the last three years that our durian has seen an audience that is much wider in scope, we have started durian to China,” Tria said. Tria alongside new DCCII officers and trustees were chosen during the 52nd DCCCII Election of Officers and Trustees held on November 30. PIA XI
