Firm gifts host school with new building
IT WAS INDEED a Merry Christmas for Maluko Central Elementary School after Hedcor turned over a brand new two-classroom building.
Maluko Central currently houses 634 pupils so the addition of the new facilities will help improve the learning-conducive environment that the school aims to provide.
Calling it a ‘dream come true’, school principal Lotes Flores was close to tears upon receiving the school facility. “Thank you for making our dreams a reality. We humbly accept this gift with overflowing joy,” shared Flores. “Rest assured, this classroom will be put to utmost use. Surely, we will provide a better learning environment for the pupils so that they can concentrate more on their studies and reach their highest potential.”
Councilor Reynaldo Bagayas Jr. who stood as representative for Manolo Fortich Mayor Clive Quiño also expressed his gratitude for the P2.3 million-worth school building. “We express our heartfelt thanks to Hedcor. You are more than just stakeholders; you are also our family and a part of the community as well.”
Education has been Hedcor’s primary driver in improving the well-being of its host communities. In fact, 68 percent of Hedcor’s Corporate Social Responsibility activities for this year are on education programs such as upgrading school facilities, student scholarships, and teacher training.
Dan Rey Faelnar, Hedcor’s assistant vice president, ended the turnover by expressing his desire for better partnership. “I hope that this relationship becomes twoway because in order to drive change for a better world, we need your partnership to advance business and communities.”
