DND, attached bureaus urged to raise standards

-

MANILA --- Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana urged all officials and employees of the DND and its attached bureaus to raise their standards of professionalism and foster an environment that will further the “One Defense

Team” concept.

“Let us raise our standards of professionalism, manifest utmost patriotwhich

ism, and foster a cordial environment to nurture our One Defense Team concept,” Lorenzana said during the traditional joint DND-Armed Forces of the Philippines’ New Year’s Call Wednesday.

Aside from the AFP, some of the attached bureaus of the DND include the Government Arsenal, the Office of Civil Defense, the National Defense College of the Philippines, the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, and the Philippine Aerospace Development Corporation.

“Nurture the trust that has been bestowed on us – by our President, and our people. As the saying goes, ‘Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair’,” he added.

Nothing that trust is built on truth, the values of honesty, transparency, and fairness is a must for all, the DND chief added.

“Finally, serve our clientele with genuine empathy and concern,” Lorenzana said.

Also, he lauded all the DND and its attached bureaus for continuously reforming, improving, and enhancing their capabilities and capacities to provide quality service to their stakeholders and to better perform their mandated task.

Other notable contributions of the DND to the attainment of peace in 2019 was the peaceful and honest plebiscite in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, and the conclusion of the Martial Law in Mindanao with the AFP decimating and weakening the terrorist and extremist groups in various areas in the region.
