Disruption in parts of downtown: DLPC

THE DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. will conduct a series of power interrupti­ons on Jan. 17, Friday, affecting customers in Downtown area.

These service disruption­s will be necessary to facilitate upgrading works in Davao Light’s Victoria Plaza substation.

The first power interrupti­on will be for 15 minutes anytime between 2 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Those affected will be customers in Cabaguio Avenue going to Holy Cross Drive, via Ignacio Villamor St. and Maya-Maya St. at the back of J. Porras Elem. School and neighborin­g areas. Also affected are customers in J.P. Laurel Avenue, from Panasonic Main Bajada to Bacaca Road up to Diversion Road along Buhangin Underpass to entrance of Jade Valley Homes, icluding El Rio Vista Village and nearby areas. Customers in Mabini Street to Bacaca Road via Circumfere­ntial Road and Garcia Heights will also be affected.

Also, another 15-minute power interrupti­on anytime

between 2:15 a.m. to 2:45 a.m. will be experience­d by the customers along Guzman Street, Holy Cross of Davao College up to Gaisano Mall of Davao and nearby areas.

Moreover, a 45-minute power interrupti­on will be conducted on the same day anytime between 3 a.m. to 4 a.m., affecting customers in J.P. Laurel Avenue, specifical­ly from El Bajada Hotel to Abreeza Mall. This includes Lacson Street, Medical School Drive and nearby areas. Also affected in this service disruption are customers in Barrio Obrero.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenie­nce brought about by this scheduled power interrupti­on. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoratio­n may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidabl­e circumstan­ces.
