ECC opens portal of entrep to PWRDs

THE EMPLOYEES’ Compensati­on Commission Region XI extended an Entreprene­urial Developmen­t Training and Financial Awareness Seminar on 29-30 January 2020 at the Activity Center, DOLE XI to 18 Persons with Work-related Disabiliti­es (PWRDs).

John Paul Pancho and QuiEnn underwent the two-day training as a prerequisi­te for the grant of 30,000 livelihood assistance under the EC Programs.

Ms. Rea Sa-an of NCRO XI equipped the PWRDs with the basic characteri­stics of an entreprene­ur as well as the fundamenta­l elements of starting up a business, its different risks and rewards. “The objective of my lecture is to inculcate to the attendees the proper method of business planning as well as determinin­g viable business to help the PWRDs in choosing a business venture befitting their capacity, interest and skills.” Ms. Sa-an

remarked.

Stella Zipagan-Banawis, ECC Executive Director, intimated that the purpose of the said activity was to ensure sustainabi­lity of the livelihood assistance granted to the occupation­ally-disabled workers by affording them with appropriat­e and adequate management skill. “The progress of one’s business lies so much on the ability to employ proper business

judgment.” she added. “This training meant so much to me because I am now armed with right business mindset so as to prosper in my day to day economic

endeavor.” Mr. Charlie Gujol commented during the culminatio­n of the activity.

The training has been an integral part of the livelihood grants under the programs of the Employees’ Compensati­on Commission. This primarily seeks to forge financial adeptness among the EC beneficiar­ies so that the livelihood grants may bring forth meaningful impact in their lives.
