DCWD Water Testing Lab aces proficiency tests
THE WATER Testing Laboratory of Davao City Water District attained an excellent rating in the Proficiency Testing Scheme for Water Microbiological Testing Laboratory for 2019. This excellent performance rating has been maintained by DCWD since 2009.
The Proficiency Test is conducted annually by the National Reference Laboratory and Health
Facilities and Service Regulatory Bureau as mandated by the Department of Health for the accreditation renewal of water testing laboratories. This means that DCWD’s Water Laboratory, which performs examination of drinking water, is giving accurate, precise, and reliable results. In turn, the results assure compliance with the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water.
DCWD also received a Certificate of Recognition for the successful completion of the December 2019 WS ERA Proficiency Testing Round 281. The Proficiency Testing Scheme is open to all laboratories worldwide with the purpose of evaluating their technical and analytical abilities. This proves that DCWD’s established methods of analysis are at par with international standards.
Both the DOH and ERA proficiency test certificates were presented during DCWD employees’ convocation on February 3, 2020. DCWD General Manager Edwin V. Regalado congratulated the water laboratory staff headed by Production Department Manager Amaure Demarmoser A. Dalisay and Water Quality Division Manager Hydie R. Maspiñas for the consistent performance and commitment to safeguard public health.
