AN ALLEGED swindler who dropped the names of two mayors was arrested in an entrapment operation conducted at 7-11 store along Quezon Boulevard last Friday afternoon.

According to the report from the Davao City Police Office, the suspect was a call center agent identified as Krizma Joy Rellon, 24, a transient resident of Purok 7, Mabini, Boulevard, Barangay 37-C.

The Anti-Scam Unit of Davao City identified the victim as Marjorie Cainglet, 25, single, and a resident of Rosalina Village 3, Baliok, who also lodged the complaint against Rellon.

Initial investigation disclosed that the complainant ordered to buy 250,000 pieces of face masks from Rellon in return for P197,000. The suspect told Cainglet that the face masks will be delivered on the morning of Friday, Feb. 21, 2020.

The suspect also assured the victim that she is the niece of the Tagum City mayor and also a close friend of Mayor Sara Duterte.

However, on the agreed date of delivery, the suspect allegedly demanded another P100,000 from the victim before releasing the items.

Cainglet then sought the help of the Investigation and Detection Management Branch, led by Lt. Col. Leonardo Tarongoy and the Davao City AntiScam Unit, led by Paulino Sagarino, which then launched a sting operation.

Recovered from Rellon was the boodle money amounting to P100,000, Centur Medical Supplies transaction receipts, and P777,000. The suspect is now under the custody of the IDMB.
