Bulk water project 70% complete: exec
THE Apo Agua Infrastructure, a consortium that is building a bulk water project in the city has completed about 70% of the project, a top official of the Davao City Water District (DCWD) said.
Lawyer Bernardo Delima Jr., DCWD Human Resources Department head, said during the forum at the Royal Mandaya Hotel yesterday that the consortium is starting to set up the water impounding facility.
Delima said the water district, which is part of the consortium together with the Aboitiz Equity Ventures and the JV Angeles Construction and Development Corp., is also investing another P2 billion for the replacement of main lines and for the improvement of extensions and creating another laterals.
The project will allow the water district, which will buy the bulk water output
from Apo Agua Infrastructura, to serve the underserved and the unserved areas of the city, particularly the second district of the city.
The project, which will also provide water for new housing projects, both horizontal and vertical, is also expected to be completed next year and will have a mini-hydroelectric component enough to provide electricity to itself.
Its operation will also allow the water district to rest some of its wells.
