A FLAVORFUL homemade ice cream is making great strides amidst the pandemic in Davao City - the Signature Homestyle Ice Cream.

When everything else was shutdown by the pandemic, a mixture of multiple classic flavors was created in the humble home of Jim Eric Claveria Mara.

The flavors of durian, tsokolate, ube, and mango were created through countless of trials but has now become a locally-produced dessert that Dabawenos can be proud of.

Using his own skills and creative personal recipe, all raw materials are locally-sourced in Davao. "As I start building my scoop of empire, I am also sourcing everything local," Jim said.

Getting local suppliers is part of the game plan because the company started in July 2020 when the pandemic was at its peak. Scoops of truly local ice cream was also reaching out to local producers of durian, cacao and mango to support local businesses.

When people were shutting down their businesses, work schedules getting distorted and many just lost their jobs, home grown businesses like the

Signature Homestyle Ice Cream is supporting other local business as well.

With the advent of social media platforms like Youtube, TV shows like Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho and Tiktok, has become his personal consultants as research sources. Thus, the birth of the four classic flavors of Signature Homestyle Ice Cream.

"I made my own marketing mileage and promoted my platforms at it's most efficient possible way to make a sale and now we are happy to announce that we will be displaying our ice cream in major supermarkets in Davao and we will also open our first stall at SM Lanang Premier," Jim proudly said.

Manned with three personnel, the company currently operates through online sales distribution channels Grab and Foodpanda.

"I am so grateful to every single person who helped us improve and grow. We are thankful to everyone who shared their scoop with us as this is just the beginning." Jim added.
