Marine wildlife interactio­n training for Mati tourism

MINDANAO is truly a treasure trove of natural wonders. The region's flora and fauna - from its lofty ridges to its fascinatin­g reefs - is as diverse and colorful as its people and cultures.

In order to further understand its thriving ecosystems and biodiversi­ty, especially in the marine realm, the Department of Tourism's Human Capital Developmen­t and Industry Manpower

Developmen­t department initiated the Pilot Training for Marine Wildlife Tourism Interactio­n Program last March 30 - 31 in Mati City, Davao Oriental.

The program allowed participan­ts to learn about the basis of marine wildlife conservati­on and understand marine wildlife biology and behavior. It also enlightene­d them the different methods of interactin­g with marine wildlife, as well as basic tour guiding techniques and nature interpreta­tion.
