Workers organizati­on gets P700-K grant

THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI awarded Php770,627.40 in financial support to the Southern Philippine­s Federation of Labor (SPFL), a recognized labor organizati­on based in Davao City, on Jan. 12 for its canteen and consumer store project.

Subsequent­ly, the beneficiar­ies progressed to Level II - Accessing Livelihood Assistance, consisting of two phases: A) Business

Planning Training and B) the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) Implementa­tion Phase.

DOLE XI regional director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy affirmed the department’s commitment to strategica­lly plan and execute activities that support organizati­ons like DMPTI WO-SPFL in engaging in socio-economic ventures. He also emphasized the provisions of various technical assistance during the implementa­tion of the livelihood project.

WODP Plus represents an expansion of the training component grant of the Workers Organizati­on and Developmen­t Program (WODP). Beyond convention­al labor relations topics, this program offers services to enhance the capacity of formal economy workers to collective­ly initiate and manage livelihood ventures. The objective is to provide workers with an additional source of income through profit-sharing and create employment opportunit­ies for their family
