- BY RHODA GRACE B. SARON

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAAP) Davao debunked claims there was an aircraft missing or plane crash as reported in an advisory released by the City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) on Wednesday afternoon.

CDRRMO immediately retracted its advisory on the same day.

A public advisory was released at 01:30 pm that all inbound and outbound flights have already been accounted for.

Also, Avseu 11 deputy chief, Lt. Col Grace Lascano, said they verified the information and it came out negative.

Prior to that, the CAAP Safety Officer disseminated information indicating that an Emergency Locator transmitter of an unknown aircraft was reported at 9:10 am on Wednesday. It remained in an active state, according to the advisory of the city disaster.

Based on the latest available data, the aircraft's last known position was located at Runway No. 5, covering an area of 5-6 NM (nautical miles) along the Davao City Coastal Road and Toril.

With this, all Barangay Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Centers (BDRRMCs) and volunteer groups situated in the upland portion of Toril District were advised to report to CDRRMOOperational center/Apo Base or dial 911 in case the aircraft was sighted within their areas of responsibility.

With that, members of the Talomo Police Station, led by Major Rosario

Aguilar, quickly went to the area at the Coastal Road, where the unknown aircraft was said to be located.

But according to the statement of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAP) Davao, all aircrafts are accounted for and that no plane was lost or crashed.
