GO! SALADS
From the farm, straight to your table—that is what Go! Salads hopes to achieve. It aims to promote a healthy lifestyle with salads that are both affordable and delicious. Launched in late April, Go! Salads has been enjoying a steady stream of regulars who range from health-conscious residents of the area to those curious enough to try every item that the little kiosk has to offer. Proprietor Cibbie Gonzales explains that the vegetables he uses for the salads come from his family's organic farms.
Go! Salads currently offers four gourmet salads on its menu. The Sweet Caroline (P100) is made of mixed greens with candied walnuts, sun-dried tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and honey balsamic vinaigrette. For a Filipino twist, try the Bayani Salad (P100) which combines mixed greens with adobo flakes, corn kernels, candied cashews, and soy sesame dressing. The Wild Wild West (P100) is another must-try with its buffalo chicken bites, shredded carrots, and herbed ranch dressing. For something heavier but just as healthy, try the Sgt. Steak Salad (P100)—mixed greens topped with sautéed mushrooms and chimichurri dressing. As a light snack or as a side to the salads, try the Garlic Hummus with Pita Bread (P50) or the Sundried Tomato Hummus (P55), also served with pita bread.
There is always room for dessert, even in the healthiest of restaurants. Try the Sea Salted Chocolate Cupcake (P65) or the Red Velvet Cupcake (P65). Both are made of whole wheat and are also sugar-free, making them perfect, guiltless after-meal treats. Don't forget to down the meal with refreshingly light drinks like the Vanilla Lemongrass (P35 for medium, P40 for large) or the Peppermint Lemonbalm (P35 for medium, P40 for large).
