They can also set up the lights and sound system, as well as photo and video coverage for good memories.
The woman behind this lucrative and very creative business is Alma Santos-Reynon. She is a party planner, event stylist, and wedding coordinator. Northern Living asked Alma for some tips and suggestions on how to make even the wildest of ideas into party realities.
THEMED PARTIES
Always have your kid's personality and preferences in mind when in comes to developing the theme of the party. It is important not to lose track of what your children like. Kiddie parties that also appeal to adults are so in vogue these days. Parents seem to like to choose themes which don't seem too kiddie. While it is nice to have the adults enjoy the party, too, it is important to remember that the party is for the kids! A high-concept party might photograph well, but will the kids enjoy it?
Consider the market availability of the required décor.
If they are not readily available in local markets, then it is time to rethink some aspects of the theme you're trying to develop. It is more economic in terms of time and money to have party accents and decorations that are easily accessible.
TIME MANAGEMENT
Create and follow a strict schedule. Pink Tie always gets its work done on time by creating a schedule that they know they can follow. Use this in conjunction with a checklist where they can track their progress.
Allow room for change.
Alma recommends finishing everything two weeks prior to the party date, just so if there are any changes, you would still have time to work on it.
Categorize your workload.
Divide your work into easy and difficult tasks, then figure out how you want to take it from there. If you're the type who works better when you finish all the difficult tasks, then do those first. If not, then do the opposite. "If you can work on it today, why wait for tomorrow?" Alma stresses.
PARTY SUPPLIES
While trying to make everything from scratch is admirable, it is necessary to have suppliers who can provide you with goods and services that you cannot make yourself. These are the things you should look for when contracting a supplier.
Apart from price, consider the quality of work they can offer.
It is important to stay within the budget, but it is more important to get goods and services that are impeccable and top-notch.
Punctuality
In situations where you are only given a limited time frame to do the whole setup and run through the program, you will need a good supplier who comes on time and can do the job fast while still giving you the best quality work.
Flexibility
There will always be last-minute changes in any party. These are inevitable and must be worked on very quickly, so choose suppliers who are flexible and whom you feel most comfortable working with.
