President Duterte condoles with kin of PDEA agents killed in Lanao del Sur

DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindana­o -- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Wednesday, October 10, visited the wake of five Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (PDEA) agents who were assassinat­ed in Lanao del Sur.

During his visit at Camp Siongco where the remains of the drug enforcemen­t officers lie, the President personally condoled with the family of the fallen PDEA agents and assured that justice will be served.

President Duterte awarded the Order of LapuLapu with the Rank of Kalasag to the victims’ family representa­tives, and also extended financial, burial, and employment assistance.

The Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kalasag is given to those who lost their lives in the line of pushing for a campaign of the President.

The five PDEA agents were ambushed in Kapai, Lanao del Sur on Friday, October 05, by unidentifi­ed gunmen after a dialogue with former illegal drug dependents in the Municipal Hall of Baranggay Kianibong, Togoloan II.

The fatalities were identified as IA 1 Vencio Ardepolla, IO 1 Laurice Joy Amar, IO 1 Diobel Pacinio, IO 1 Kenneth Capuno, and IO 1 Kristine Mae Torlao.

Meanwhile, PDEA agent IA 1 Rachel Ann Tan Gentapanan and NUP Normina Dicay survived the incident but sustained gunshot wounds.

PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino also paid his respects to the families of the PDEA agents and condemned the “cowardly act” against the drug enforcemen­t officers.
