Comelec opens filing of candidacy; remindes to vote wisely
Commission on Election (ComElec) opened filing of candidacy from October 11-12 and October 1517, 2018.
However, as of October 11, 2018, City Comelec Officer, Fernindand Bermejo said that there are no candidates who filed during the day.
With the upcoming election, Bermejo reminded voters to wisely and choose the right leader for the city.
The City Comelec officer also said that everyone’s vote is powerful that it will have a
great impact to the lives of the community.
“What is involved here is your life, our lives, sino man ang maging lider, maapektuhan ang buhay natin sa kanyang pamumuno, so whether dalahin niya tayo sa kasaganahan o sa kahirapan,” he added.
He reiterated that wise voting is always the key.
“Dapat maingat sa pag boto kasi dito nakasalalay ang buhay natin,” he said.
He also said that the people must choose a “Servant Leader” not a lead who will slave his realm.
Leadership is not lordship, ang pagiging lider ay hindi pagiging Diyos, magkaiba yun e,” Bermejo said.
The comelec also warned not to patronize vote buying, because vote buying equates weak candidacy.
Bermejo added that the city comelec empowers their education and awareness campaign through tri-media information dissemination.
