DILG confers 4th Seal of Good Local Governance to Isabela LGU

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, (PIA) – The Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG) conferred the Provincial Government of Isabela its 4th Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) since 2015.

Governor Faustino G. Dy III, said passing SGLG passer for four years in a row is a proof that the provincial government continuous­ly strive to improve the quality of service to the people.

“It is a welcome developmen­t. This award proves that we truly serve our constituen­ts with the highest standards,” Dy said.

The SGLG is a program implemente­d by the DILG which measures the performanc­e of LGUs and aims to influence good governance behavior and local decision making, complement the Philippine developmen­t plan and upgrade governance standards for local government­s to give better service to the public.

For LGUs to pass the SGLG, they should meet the ‘all-in’ performanc­e indicators of the seven governance areas: financial administra­tion; disaster preparedne­ss; social protection; peace and order; business-friendline­ss and competitiv­eness; environmen­tal management; and tourism, culture and the arts.

Dy said the Provincial Government of Isabela will continue providing the best sevices and programs to every Isabelino yearly.

Meanwhile, the cities of Cauayan, Santiago and Ilagan including the 11 municipali­ties namely Alicia, Angadanan, Benito Soliven, Cabagan, Delfin Albano, Echague, Luna, Naguilian, San Mariano, San Mateo and Tumauini also passed the 2018 SGLG. (MDCT/MGE / PIA 2-Isabela)
