PRRD condemns NPA for using lumads, indigenous peoples
President Rodrigo Duterte lambasted the New People’s Army (NPA) during his speech on Subaraw Festival for using the lumads and the indigenous peoples for rebellion.
“Kaya kayong mga NPA, for all your proclamation na you love the country tapos ginagamit ninyo ang mga lumad, the indigenous tribe of the country, kung hindi ba kayo tanga, kung hindi ba kayo bobo,” he said. He added that 75% of the red fighters are lumads stating that the NPA is taking advantage of the lumads to pursue their rebellion.
“75% of the total armed unit ng NPA, 75 ay lumad yan,” he added. The president vehemently called on the rebels to stand down and live a normal life and enjoy the progress enjoyed by the rest of the community. “Yung mga NPA… it’s time for you to surrender, actually,” he said.
The president is hopeful that sooner the Philippines will attain peace. “By the grace of God… In fews years baka magkaroon tayo ng kapayapaan.” he said.
