- By Rich Reduble

Presidential daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte led the Hugpong ng Pagbabago senatorial candidates woo Palawan voters in Puerto Princesa on April 24, 2019 at the City Coliseum.

She underscored the role of the senators and the senatorial candidates who will help President Rodrigo Duterte to fulfill his campaign promise to implement change in the country.

Among those she endorsed were former PNP Director General Ronald Bato Dela Rosa, Presidential Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Bong Go, Secretary Francis Tolentino, Senator Sonny Angara, Senator Aquilino Koko Pimentel III, Maguindanao Congressman Dong Mangudadatu, former Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., former Senator Pia Cayetano, Senator Cynthia Villar, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, Journalist Jiggie Manicad, and siblings, Senator Jinggoy Estrada and Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito.

Mayor Duterte told Palawan voters that Secretary Tolentino will push for the agenda of the administration and will help the local government units by capacitating them and providing resources.

She also reminded the voters about Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos’s contribution to their province which resulted to the decline of poverty incidence. She said that Marcos will help improve the country’s poor internet connection through legislation.

Mayor Duterte also endorsed the siblings, Senator Jinggoy Estrada and Senator JV Ejercito, both sons of former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.

She also urged ordinary citizens to take its active part to help the country even in small way, which is a significant contribution to attain change.

“Ang pag-recycle ug basura malaki na yan na contribution sa inyong barangay sa inyong siyudad para sa pagbabago nga gusto nato makita sa atong bansa,” Mayor Duterte said in mixed Tagalog and Bisaya dialect.

Mayor Duterte, who said it was her first time to visit Puerto Princesa, thanked the audience for their presence and manifestation of support to Hugpong ng Pagbabago senatorial candidates. She also thanked Palawan’s support to President Duterte.

“Dako kaayo ang among utang kabubut-on kaninyo nga gitagaan mi ninyo ug oportunidad nga mosilbi sa nasud. Daghang kaayong salamat. Maraming salamat. Kahit saan kami pupunta ang mensahe na gusto naming iiwanan ay ang mensahe ng pasasalamat,” she said.
