PSU seeks retitling of Aborlan High School property
The Palawan State University’s Board of Regent has requested the transfer of ownership of a parcel of land presently registered under the name of the Palawan Teacher’s College (PTC) to the Department of Education as it is currently being occupied by the Aborlan National High School.
The 20,000 square meters described as Lot 183-A, Psd- 4A 012582 was donated by Alejandro Caspe to PTC for educational purposes which was eventually approved and registered.
According to Board Member Albert Rama, the Aborlan National High School is still occupying the parcel of land without legal ownership yet or has no legal tenurial instrument over the area.
However, many projects have been forfeited due to the land and ownership status which is the main prerequisite in every construction of the physical facilities.
“Wala naman ibang problema doon lang sa status kasi napo-forfeit ang mga projects na para sana sa development of school. Kailangan lang mai-transfer ang lupa sa Aborlan National High School from Palawan Teacher’s College,” Rama explained.
The High School is implementing K to 12 program where they have to expedite the construction of infrastructure as additional projects in rendering educational services.
“Isa ang school na ‘to sa napili na magkaroon ng K to 12 kaya marami pa sanang dapat magawang infrastructure the kaya lang question ang status of land ownership,” he added.
