DU30 invited to Subaraw
President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to attend the Subaraw Biodiversity Festival on November 11, city administrator Atty. Arnel Pedrosa said Tuesday. Pedrosa said Mayor Lucilo Bayron has already sent an invitation to the Office of the President and executive assistant Rod Saucelo is making arrangements with the presidential staff. “Maaring darating si Presidente. Meron nang exchanges ng communication si Mr. ( Rod) Saucelo at si former special assistant to the president Bong Go sa pagbisita ni Presidente [ Duterte],” he said. Carlo Abogado, assistant city administrator and one of the focal persons tasked by Bayron to assist the Subaraw Biodiversity Festival, said they remain optimistic President Duterte will grace the occasion despite his busy schedule. “Sana positive. Alam naman natin ang Presidente maraming lakad. Hindi natin mapanghahawakan kundi yung nandyan na talaga. Pero nanghihingi na ng program ang Office of the President,” he said. Jan Elmer Badilla, information, education, and communications officer of Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park ( PPSRNP), said aside from President Duterte, Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu and Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo- Puyat are also expected to attend the event. “Wala pa namang final na confirmation, we invited. Nanghingi na ng program ang Office of the President,” he said.
